A Little about us

Kensington Cafe is truly a neighborhood cafe. We love our regulars, are always happy to have new faces walk in the door, and strive to make everyone feel at home… you can even bring your dog for patio seating and people watching.

We believe in bringing you a quality product at a reasonable price. We are very vegetarian-friendly and use only the freshest ingredients in all of our food. Every sauce, spread and dressing involved in your meal is made in-house, and everything is made to order.

We open our doors for early morning coffee and breakfast, serve a great lunch, and carry through the night – bringing you beer, wine, food, and desserts. We embrace the arts and always try to keep things interesting by showcasing local artwork and hosting live music.

Happy Hour is Monday through Thursday from 4-6pm with food and drink specials. We start serving our Dinner Menu every day at 5 pm. Come by and try it out!

The Neighborhood

kensington, san diego

One of San Diego's oldest residential neighborhoods, Kensington is situated north of El Cajon Boulevard and east of Interstate 15 above the south rim of Mission Valley, and known for its beautiful Spanish style homes most built in the late 1920's. There's a small business district along Adams Avenue (the street we are on!) that features a ton of cool local staple businesses that we are proud to call our neighbors.
